Arava Holland moves to Bleiswijk

As of last week Araya Holland is no longer located in Poeldijk, but in Bleiswijk. Malou Even (V.P. Business Development & Global Sales) indicates that they, at the Van Duijn company in Bleiswijk) have been using the cooling stores for various products (citrus and pomegranates at the moment).

"Various reasons made us decide to find a different location for our products, and so far it's perfect. We also intend to keep a small 'stock' of paprika in order to serve our customers as well and as constantly as possible. Besides fruit and vegetables the herbs and exotics have been stored and redistributed at Van Duijn in Bleiswijk since about a week ago."

Start of paprika season
"Meanwhile, the new Israeli paprika season has started again. We're already happy with it. Just as in previous years we are sending higher volumes to Russia at the beginning of the season, but there are also some lower volumes going to Western Europe. But it will take a while for the large quantities to arrive there."

Earlier than last year
According to Malou the harvest is larger than last year already. "There is more coming from the plant at the moment due to the good weather in Israel. We also started earlier than last year. What is striking is that there are also more larger sizes of paprikas. Last year there were mainly small sizes available at the beginning of the season. We hope this season will be more even. Our total paprika volume will be around 30,000 tonnes again, but Arava's growth in recent years is mainly due to other products such as citrus, pomegranate, sharon fruit, potato and carrot, with over 100,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables in total."
