"Pomegranates will be sold until December. They weigh 400g on average, have a great colour and no imperfections (cracking, sun damage)," says Carlo Nicotra, manager of the PO with headquarters in Sicily and Calabria.

"The mild weather had a positive influence on the quality of the produce. We expect the new campaign to be positive as the quality of Dolce di Sicilia is far superior than others now on sale."
Organic Dolce di Sicilia pomegranates are packaged in 4kg cardboard crates and shipped in pallets containing 210 crates.

Avocados
Limited quantities of Bacon avocados will be available until the end of December. "Despite the fact that the quality of our Bacon avocados is of a higher standard than others, we only plant them in 5% of our orchards because we want to increase Hass productivity, so it will still be the most popular variety in Europe in the next campaign."

"This year we have planted new trees, and we will repeat this in 2014 as we wish to maintain the high quality of our avocados. Prior to this, we will carry out checks on the climate and soil conditions and also establish the quality of the water."
To establish itself in the market, Sicily Avocado Farms will ship the produce immediately after harvesting it and it will only sell avocados coming from partners as this way it can keep quality under control.
