Fresh Direct makes new addition to the family
We originally launched the shop over 4 years ago (then named Roots of Hardwick), but recently the shop has undergone a refurb and rebrand and we’re now able to co-market it alongside The Muddy Duck, our local village pub, development kitchen and live testing ground.
The Duck’s Pantry offers customers a range of truly fresh produce and products. Customers have voted with their feet and ‘fresh’ is overwhelmingly what entices them in. Not only that, The Duck’s Pantry has a real focus on building a range of its own, unique, chef-prepared products to compliment a meal with – building on the solid and increasingly loyal customer base from The Muddy Duck, who want to be able to buy the components of a dish they taste in the pub and recreate it in the comfort of their own homes.
For Fresh Direct, this is yet another example of the lengths we go to to understand how we can make our service even better. By becoming our own customer as a village pub, and now as a small local food retailer too, we can acquire live and up-to-date feedback on how we perform. Not only that, we can also better assess how Fresh Direct as a big, national supplier can help and support a small, local business.
For The Duck’s Pantry we hope, in time, to be able to open the doors on a shop that offers only chef-prepared and non-branded products and becomes the best destination for foodies in the region.
