Marco launch new technology for a productive pack-house
To meet these demands, Marco are launching their Yield Control Waste and Predictive Packaging Modules at the Fruit Logistica Show in Berlin. Both complement the company’s highly successful Yield Control Module (YCM) which significantly reduces over-pack/giveaway.
The Yield Control Waste Module concept has been specifically developed to provide complete raw material usage data that ensures greater accountability throughout large pack-houses. Essentially the Marco system provides a comprehensive measure of the total weight of product issued to packing lines from the pre-pack area and compares it with the weight leaving the pack-house as finished product thereby determining the ‘Mass Balance’ for the Pack-house and identifying unnecessary waste production at different stages in the packing process.
The integration of Predictive Packaging Module within the YCM brings new levels of packing line management and control, linking the pack-house with the pre-pack/field environment. It provides a direct, visual feed back from the packing lines via an easy-to-read coloured light system. This clearly highlights if packs coming down the line are ‘too heavy’ or ‘too light’, allowing proactive adjustments to be made in the pre-pack area. This minimises the build up of excess product at the packing stations and significantly reduces the necessary pack weight adjustments needed on the line by up to 30%. In parallel, the system provides important management data that can be used to assess individual operator efficiency and performance.
