No more soggy sandwiches!

AU: Intense no mess tomatoes back on the shelves

After a seasonal break in the production of Intense tomatoes they are now back on the supermarket shelves.

Intense tomatoes have the same amount of juice as a regular tomato but it stays trapped in each tiny cell meaning there’s no dripping or sogginess even when it’s cut or squeezed.

Tomatoes are one of the most popular sandwich ingredients, millions of people every day are affected by having soggy sandwiches.

Intense tomatoes are great for catering and cooking and are a pleasure to slice, and they do not shrink when cooked which makes them suitable for roasting as well as for adding to salads and soups.

The Intense tomatoes are grown all year round by Australian farmers who are dedicated and passionate about growing this gel-less, deep red colour and flavoursome tomato. The Intense tomato is currently being supplied out of the Bundaberg region and complementary supply will follow from Southern Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Bowen.

As different regions are in season at different times, a good consistent supply of ‘in season’ tomatoes ensures the Intense tomatoes are great to eat all year round.

Good volumes of Intense tomatoes will be stocked in Coles/Woolworth/IGA and good fruit shops from November.
