Timorex Gold: Stories about joining protected agriculture in Mexico

The phrase used in the positioning of the new fungicide Timorex Gold, "apply, cut and export", has been surpassed by the use of Timorex Gold in various horticultural farms in Mexico. Angel Hernandez C. Junior Grower of San José and Pedro Escobedo Querétaro agriculture, said "once Gold Timorex is incorporated in our European cucumber crops, we see that after a rotation of fungicides, the effectiveness of the conventional ones improve."

In this very important project, Timorex Gold is used to release predators mites that control plant health problems. Besides being a valuable tool to manage the resistance of foliar diseases in vegetables, Timorex Gold has the quality of having zero days of cutting and no residues are left. It is common for farms that have adopted the use of Timorex Gold to observe a phytotonic effect mainly in pepper, tomato and cucurbits. Thus, Martin Lucero O. manager of Agroexportadora located in the Northwest in La Paz Baja California Sur, highlighted the difference in the demeanor of tomato plants treated with Timorex Gold, resulting in better plant condition.

Timorex Gold has proven to be effective in the management of powdery mildew in pepper, especially a solution when the time for cutting arrives. Jeanette Topete, production manager of Poder Germinado en La Barca Jalisco said that "having incorporated Timorex Gold in their mildew management program during harvest season provides flexibility in the choice of fungicides." It is recommended that Timorex Gold is applied when producers observe the first symptoms of the disease. Applications must have a good coverage and water volumes between 200 to 400 liters per hectare, thanks to its effect at the level of parenchymal palisade within the treated leaves. Currently it holds COFEPRIS registration for the use in Solanaceae, Cucurbitaceae, and Berries and bananas. Therefore Timorex Gold is a valuable tool to manage foliar diseases.
