Eight greenhouses are being built with a surface of 7 x 24 metres, on a site located on the banks of the river Guascarita, in the town of Isla del Cerrito.
Work will start next month with the leaf crops, that is, lettuce, spinach, scallions and other varieties. In February, tomatoes and peppers will be introduced, with a density of 420 seedlings for every 168 m2.
The same density will be used in both cases, which gives an average performance of 3 kilos of peppers during their entire cycle and 15 to 20 kilos for each tomato plant.
In addition to the greenhouses, shade nettings of the same size will also be built. The project also considered the planting of fruit trees, as the land is ideal for the growing of various species.
