Netherlands: Fruit Avenue offers complete Egyptian package from Fresh Park Venlo

Fruit Avenue was originally an Egyptian growing company. Over the years the company has developed into importer and exporter of fruit and vegetables. For several years, Fruit Avenue has had a warehouse in Venlo, where it has sufficient cooling and storage space. In the Dutch fruit and vegetable trade the well known Nico Person is leading the sales team of Fruit Avenue.

The Egyptian roots are clearly reflected in Fruit Avenue's range. "In the season we offer spring onions, dry onions, fresh and dry garlic, green beans, grapes, strawberries, oranges and pomegranates," says director Walid Arafah. "In the first week of November we are starting our spring onion season. The product is well known with its first class quality and like all our Products GlobalGAP-certified.

"The Netherlands is an important sales market for us. Nico has 40 years experience in the market and has built up a good network. Also we appreciate the Dutch 'fair' trade." But the market of Fruit Avenue goes further. Thus, the company has customers in Western and Eastern Europe, and also the Middle and Far East, as well as Canada. In Europe we have our transport partners Jan De Waal and Van’t Boonhof in the same place where our company is located, with a direct access to both companys we can react on any order very fast and within 24 to 48 hours our fresh product is already there ‘where it should be‘ just in time.
