NZ: Marketer of the Year Award winner announced
Sarah was unveiled as the winner of the Marketer of the Year Award 2012 on Wednesday 27 June during the PMA Fresh Connections conference and trade show, and was chosen for her marketing work on the Mahana Red apple in the New Zealand domestic market.
The Freshmax NZ Mahana Red campaign was highlighted by the award’s judges as being clear sighted in its goals and desired outcomes, and showing consistent growth in sales while maintaining a premium price in the market. The Mahana Red campaign made excellent use of the product’s provenance story, aided by clean, crisp and contemporary branding.
The campaign took a strong, strategic approach to marketing through a variety of outlets, including radio, television, point-of-sale materials, trade shows, social media and on-pack messaging.
"Sarah McRae’s consummately professional coordination of the Mahana Red campaign and the strong sales results it translated to in the market lifted her entry to the top of a very strong field of contestants. We congratulate Sarah and Freshmax on their fine work, and look forward to seeing more excellent fresh produce marketing work from them in future," said Produce Plus Magazine editor Tom Bicknell.
"PMA warmly congratulates Sarah and the Freshmax team on their excellent marketing campaign for Mahana Red. It was a worthy winner amongst a very strong field of entries," said Michael Worthington, CEO of PMA Australia-New Zealand.
An interview with Sarah McRae will appear in the upcoming Spring 2012 issue of Produce Plus Magazine.
