Netherlands: Spanish melon season starts at Hage International

From week 18 Hage International started selling Spanish Galia melons and watermelons. Hage have two varieties in the assortment. White seedless and black seedless Fashion. Both the suppliers and Hagé International have positive expectations about the coming season.

Black seedless watermelon Fashion

The Spanish watermelon season traditionally starts with products from Almeria.
Hagé International have been working for years with its permanent supplier Acrena. Originally the Spanish cultivation of Galia melons had problems with the cold weather. Because of the timely recovery of the temperature the quality of the Galia is good. Also the white seedless and black seedless Fashion of the first harvest are of extremely good quality.

Together with the Spanish suppliers Hagé International expect good volumes and tasty, qualitative high value products. Hagé International expect the demand for black seedless Fashion watermelons to increase because of the sweet taste and the nice red pulp. The demand for Galia melons and the white seedless watermelon remain stable. It is expected that the demand for melons will increase as soon as the weather in the Netherlands improves.

Hagé International supply melons all year round. The melon season from Almeria runs from week 18 to the end of June. Then Hagé International will change to Murcia. From the beginning of September melons are imported from Brazil.
The melons will be available in various sizes and packings.
