Uzbekistan exports 3,000 tons of early watermelons

In Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya region, the watermelon season has commenced with local farmers exporting around 3,000 tons to international buyers while ensuring local market supply.

According to EastFruit, early harvests from this region have attracted buyers from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and the United Arab Emirates. The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan notes that these watermelons achieve premium pricing due to their sweetness, natural cultivation, and early ripening.

"The early ripening of these watermelons significantly enhances their competitiveness in international markets," reports the Ministry, emphasizing Uzbek producers' timing advantage over competitors.

This export progress is a result of intensive efforts by local farmers and dehkans in the Kukdala district, focusing on quality and timely delivery for international markets.

The reputation of Kashkadarya's watermelons for their taste and cultivation methods has led to increased demand in regional markets, with consumers favoring early-season, high-quality produce.

The promising start to the season suggests positive trends for Uzbekistan's wider agricultural export strategy, utilizing advantageous growing conditions and geography to target Central Asia and Middle Eastern markets.
