Spar UK appoint new fresh and frozen director
Based at Harrow, Maxted will focus on increasing fresh food penetration in line with Spar’s strategic goals.
Maxted has been performing his current role as head of fresh and frozen at Spar since 2008, where he has managed a team of buyers responsible for branded and Spar own-brand supply base across the category.
He has proved successful in delivering a number of new initiatives including a new category-based process for review into the business, income and profitability KPIs alongside the own label development plan.
Spar managing director, Debbie Robinson, said: "Allan is a passionate commercial manager and an integral part of the Spar team. His understanding of the category is unsurpassed and combined with his team management skills make him the ideal person to drive fresh and frozen foods in line with our strategy."
Maxted has previously held buyer roles at Marks & Spencer and Tesco.
