Brazil: Itaueira will offer melon sample at Fruit Logistica

Itaueira Agropecuária a melon growing company with headquarters in Fortaleza, Ceará state, Northeast Brazil, will exhibit at Fruit Logistica in Berlin this year once again. Its yellow melon, individually packed into an orange net, with flavor guarantee is sold under the brands REI, CEPI and DUNORT. Samples will be available at booth C-11 at Hall 26, during the show hours.



Itaueira truthfully believes that tasting is the best way to present its melons to future clients and consumers. "The person that enjoys the melon for the first time immediately recognizes its flavor and sweetness." The company wants to sell its product to niche markets.

During Fruit Logistica, Itaueira can explain in detail to all visitors how they grow, harvest and pack the melons, the post-harvest work that is done, and how all this differential turns to higher costs that inhibits Itaueira to sell the melons for prices more close to the ones the other growers use to offer.

The company will be showing the traceability system of fruit that was tested during 2011 season and that is ready for the next season. In fact, Itaueira received from GS1 Brasil the top traceability prize for its pioneer work with traceability for fruits in Brazil last year.

This will be the first time that the company will be at the show with its own booth. Adriana Prado, Itaueira International Marketing & Logistic manager said that the company decided to participate alone this year to be able to offer more space and comfort to present and future clients and consumers. “During previous years, we had too many visitors at our small stand into the national pavilion and a lot of people came to talk to us and we were always busy. The small space in the stand did not give them not even the opportunity to sit and wait a few minutes while we were finishing our previous meeting. As this fair is so big, it is really difficult for anybody to have the time to come back later, especially if he is already finished all his visits in that particular Hall.”
