Israel: Herbs promote healthy growth with Arava
In recent years, special attention had been given to the Fresh Herbs' Department which, in return, had grown beyond expectations and placed itself as Israel's largest exporter of herbs. "With the spread of general awareness regarding health remedies associated with fresh herbs, demand is constantly showing an exponential increase which makes our task more gratified by the day," claimed Mr. Avi Bar of Arava.
Nevertheless, this year many obstacles such as, weather and unexpected conditions had effected supplies and, somewhat, lowered desired standards. Still, however, the general conception is to improve, innovate and, seek for future solutions. "We are now making efforts to scatter our growers throughout a larger geographical quarter, by doing so; we aspire to concentrate damages caused by weather to a smaller portion of our overall supply base. In addition and, just as importantly, our Q.A. still plays an active role in the process of our advancement towards the future. For herbs alone, we conduct, on a monthly basis, approximately 40 lab tests. Over the years, we have obtained many of the major certificates such as, Global Gap, BRC, HCAAP, SA8000, TNC, LEAF, M&S, and SEDEX," stated by Avi Bar.
The brand name, Arava Export Growers, is widely known in many continents, from Northern America to Western Europe, from the cold East regions to the warmer Southern states, the name, and the brand and, most importantly, the reputation is well respected and benchmarked by many. There is no secret ingredient; it is all about uniformity or, in other words, same service and dedication for each kilo exported, this conception is deeply engraved within the company's strategy.
