As of September, shipments of frozen vegetables, including artichokes, yellow peppers, rocoto peppers, corn and tomatoes, reached a value of US$ 6.5 million, which means a monthly average of US$ 722,980; 35% less than last year (US$ 1.1 million).
Yellow peppers made a total US$ 820,000, at an average price of US$ 2.43 per kilo, while the revenue generated by corn kernels amounted to US$ 247,000.
Regarding the main export markets, the United States led the ranking with US$ 3.9 million (61% of the total), followed by Spain, down to US$ 1.1 million (17%) from last year's US$ 3.5 million, and Italy, with US$ 456,000 (7%).
As regards export companies, IQF del Peru led the list with sales amounting to US$ 2.7 million (42% of the total), followed by Importadora y Exportadora Doña Isabel with US$ 690,000 (11%) and Alsur SA with US$ 489,000 (8%), among 38 other firms.
