Spanish zucchini exports decrease by 18%

In the 2022/2023 campaign, Spain exported 368.77 million kilos of zucchini, i.e., 17.94% less than in the 2020/2021 campaign, in which it exported the largest amount in history, according to Hortoinfo figures.

However, the value of zucchini exports in the campaign that has just ended stood at 462.72 million euros, a similar value to the one achieved in the previous campaign and higher than in the previous ones. This happened because the price of zucchini was the highest of the last ten campaigns, with an average of €1.25/kg.

France continues to be the largest buyer of Spanish zucchini despite a 24.42% decrease in imports over the previous season, which it partially offset by a 38.33% increase in purchases from Morocco. In the 2022/2023 campaign, France imported 104.63 million kilos of zucchini from Spain, worth 128.98 million euros and at an average price of €1.23/kg.

It was followed by Germany, which imported 99.43 million kilos of Spanish zucchini, i.e., 8.67% less than in the previous season, for 127.6 million euros, at an average price of €1.28/kg.

The Netherlands ranked third with 38.88 million kilos worth 47.72 million euro and an average price of €1.23/kg.

It was followed by the United Kingdom with 36.12 million kilos, worth 49.1 million euros, and an average price of €1.36/kg.

Poland ranked fifth with 14.68 million kilos, worth 16 million euros and an average price of €1.09/kg.
