Cambridgeshire site is now processing more than 1 million cucumbers and 600,000 punnets of tomatoes weekly

CambridgeHOK completes £5m packhouse

Hi-tech horticultural specialists CambridgeHOK have completed the construction of a £5-million food packhouse. The facility, created for Fenland Glasshouse Ltd, uses automation to weigh, sort, and quality check millions of cucumbers and tomatoes ahead of delivery to supermarkets, once picked.

It has been delivered on time, with the East Yorkshire team having started on the 3,500 sq m build in July 2022. Now, the site at Ely, Cambridgeshire, is processing more than a million cucumbers and 600,000 punnets of tomatoes a week, all grown in the adjacent glasshouse which has a 22-hectare footprint.
