Vincent Elegoet, Saveurs du Bout du Monde

The mini vegetable trend continues to grow

Mini vegetables are still very trendy, “especially in the catering sector,” explains Vincent Elegoet, manager of Saveurs du Bout du Monde. Historically, the company has always offered a handful of mini-vegetables for sale, but it has now greatly expanded its range. The appeal of these products is twofold: their aesthetic appeal and their taste qualities. “It really brings something different in terms of taste and visual appeal. They are beautiful, colorful, and appealing. The mini turnip, for example, can be snacked on like a radish, and it is always a big hit!”

For the moment, the demand for mini vegetables mainly comes from restaurants, but some are also marketed at various retailers for consumers who “particularly enjoy cooking or discovering new things.”

The range of Saveurs du Bout du Monde includes mini purple turnips, mini golden turnips, mini beets (red, golden, and chioggia), mini carrots, mini fennels, mini Asian radishes, and mini white cauliflowers. From July, mini leeks and colored mini cauliflowers (orange, purple and pink) will also join the range.

“I really believe in it”
“It is a very motivating challenge because there is still a lot of work needed to promote this segmentation to our clients and to the general public. I am a great believer! We have already seen some interesting volumes this year, and based on feedback from our clients, we have the potential to increase our surface areas in the future!”

Saveurs du Bout du Monde sells its mini vegetables even in Corsica and Belgium.

Saveurs du Bout du Monde also has another novelty: the colorful braided cayenne pepper (red, orange, yellow, and green).
