Romania promulgates law providing subsidies for fruit and vegetable farms

Yesterday, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis promulgated the law establishing a state aid scheme for agricultural producers of vegetables, fruits and potatoes for a period of three years. The scheme consists of granting support in the form of a grant, for a period of three years, worth €100,000 annually, to legal persons and registered natural persons, respectively €300,000 annually in the case of cooperatives.

The money is to support sorting, packaging, labelling and transport activities carried out by agricultural producers of vegetables, fruits and potatoes, according to the law promulgated by the head of state.
