On June 14, 2023, specialists of the phytosanitary department of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Zabaikalsky Reference Center of Rosselkhoznadzor" detected one case of ToBRFV during the examination of imported products in a batch of fresh hot pepper. The volume of contaminated products is 0.57 tons.
All necessary documents on the discovery of a quarantine object were promptly transferred to the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Trans-Baikal Territory for appropriate action to be taken.
Since the beginning of 2023, four cases of tomato brown rugose virus detection in regulated products have been registered.
When affected by viruses, the quantitative and qualitative indicators of the yield of vegetable crops deteriorate. Tomato and pepper yield losses range from 30 to 70%.
