Association of Swiss Mushroom Producers: Swiss mushrooms still on course

'Development of organic mushrooms is particularly pleasing'

Despite a slight decline in the overall Swiss market from 13,537t in 2021 to 12,906t in 2022, Swiss mushroom cultivation is still on track. Particularly pleasing is the development of Swiss organic mushrooms with +89% compared to the previous year and the increased market share to 50% for noble mushrooms. A minimal decline is recorded in the fresh market of Swiss mushrooms, which fell with about - 5% compared to the previous year. Swiss shiitakes and others are at a similar level to 2021.

On growth course with +4% and on number 1 in the ranking among Swiss consumers:inside are Swiss King Trumpet mushrooms. A direct comparison with 2021 is not really possible, since that was still one of the pandemic years. Furthermore, there were conversions to organic farming and a takeover within the member farms.
