Jining Greenstream Fruits& Vegetables participates in Fruit Logistica Berlin for the first time after the pandemic

"China has relaxed pandemic controls on Russian ports, and land transportation has returned to normal"

Since the new garlic was launched at the end of June, the demand in overseas markets has been sluggish, coupled with the large inventory of old garlic, the garlic market has been running at a low level, and sales have been slow. It was not until recently that prices and exports began to stabilize.

Manager Zhang is from Jining Greenstream Fruits& Vegetables. The company exports a large amount of garlic to the Eastern European market. In an interview with Freshplaza, Zhang introduced the recent export market of garlic.

"The current domestic garlic inventory is quite large, conservatively estimated to be more than 1 million tons. The current price of 5.0cm hybrid garlic products is about 750 US dollars/ton. This price is stable and slightly lower than the previous few weeks."

"In terms of the market, the new garlic was harvested in late May and June and was put into storage in mid-August. Since then, the price of garlic has been falling all the way, and it has not stabilized until recently. Currently, the purchase of garlic in overseas markets remains normal," Zhang said.

Russia and Eastern Europe are one of the main export markets of Jining Greenstream Fruit and Vegetable. "At present, the demand in Russia is relatively stable, which is basically at a similar level as the same period last year." Zhang said, "In mid-January 2023, China has relaxed the control of Russian trucks entering China, and the logistics cost between China and Russia has been significantly reduced, and the logistics speed has also improved, reducing the risk of foreign trade practitioners," said Zhang.

Jining Greenstream Fruit and Vegetable Co., Ltd. participates in Fruit Logistica Berlin from February 8th to 10th. The booth number is H26C-02. This is also the company's first participation in the exhibition after the outbreak. "For this exhibition, we have high expectations. In the past three years, due to the pandemic, it was difficult for Chinese enterprises to participate in exhibitions abroad. Now China encourages enterprises to go out. We believe that we need to seize opportunities. Hope to meet new and old customers at the exhibition!
