Alexandre Picault, Kultive:

"We will double the mini-cucumber acreage for the 2023 season"

While the cucumber season started badly for Kultive, which was unfortunately impacted by hail that destroyed hectares of greenhouses, the campaign will finally end fairly well. "For the 2022 season, we had a very favorable weather for the consumption of cucumbers, which resulted in good prices levels. We are therefore approaching the next season with some peace of mind since we will start on a good footing," reports Alexandre Picault, the company's sales manager.

Alongside cucumbers, Kultive's flagship product, the mini-cucumber continues to thrive. "It's been two years since the product was introduced by a certain number of distributors. It's a vegetable that's trendy because it can be eaten as a snack and it's healthy, which is what today's consumers are looking for. We try to sell it around 2 euros for 3 pieces (about 400g) in order to stay within the price range of Dutch products, which are widely available on French shelves. To keep up with the growing demand for the product, the company plans to double its cultivation area in 2023."
