Ukrainian mini-carrot manufacturer saturates the domestic market and plans to export

This season, the producer of nutritious mini-carrot snacks, "Poltava Orchard," does not plan to expand its vegetable cultivation areas, as the company has carefully calculated the demand of the domestic market. Dmitro Shtanko, the owner of "Poltava Orchard," shared this with AgroPortal.ua.

"We consciously did not increase carrot production volumes last year, keeping them at 1200 tons. We already know the consumption level of the domestic market, understand how much product we can sell, and there is no need to increase carrot cultivation areas to avoid overproduction," explained Dmitro Shtanko.

The sales season for the nutritious snack "Morkishka" is coming to an end. Carrots are typically sold from July to May, as this variety lacks a core and cannot be stored for long periods, a maximum of 4 months even in storage.

The crispy product is already available in almost all major retail chains in Ukraine. Therefore, according to Dmitro Shtanko, it's time to focus on export expansion, although it's currently challenging to penetrate the European market with agricultural products.

This season, the carrot cultivation areas remain at the company's usual level—30-35 hectares. Planting will begin in April-May.
