According to "QazTrade," contracts have been signed by agricultural producers from various regions and cities for early vegetable imports. These agreements aim to secure essential fruit and vegetable supplies for the Kazakh market during the upcoming mid-season when local stocks decrease and imports become necessary.
The delivery of early imported vegetables will also help prevent shortages of socially significant products in regions and mitigate price increases. It is expected that the first batch of Uzbekistan's agricultural products will hit domestic shelves in early May.
The primary supplier of vegetable products will be the joint Kazakhstani-Uzbek company UZKAZTRADE, established in partnership with QazTrade in 2023 under intergovernmental agreements. The main task of the export-import company, as stated in the QazTrade announcement, is to supply the Kazakh market with vegetables and fruits at wholesale prices through socially entrepreneurial corporations and major retail chains.
