Market Shares 2023:

Market shares of Dutch supermarkets change a little

In 2023, the market shares of supermarket chains in the Netherlands have shifted, according to NielsenIQ. Albert Heijn has further strengthened its leading position. In contrast, Jumbo, the second-largest player, has declined. Despite a decrease in the number of supermarkets that Superunie serves, the purchasing association has also managed to increase its market share. This success is attributed to strong performances by affiliated formulas such as Dirk, Nettorama, and Vomar. The discounters Aldi and Lidl are declining in market share.
