McCain will invest 350 million euros in its three French sites

Canadian frozen fries giant McCain will invest over 350 million euros [378 million USD] until 2028 in its three French sites in the Pas-de-Calais and Marne department. The aim is to modernize and increase the capacity of its plants in France, including the Matougues plant in #Marne, where Emmanuel Macron was expected on Monday.

With these funds, McCain aims to replace the fryer of the Matougues site, as well as modernize and expand its production line, which is the longest in Europe (over 1km). The number of jobs created is not known yet.

French president Emmanuel Macron was in the Marne region, as part of the Choose France edition, to celebrate this announcement of funds.

McCain is taking advantage of the Choose France summit, organized by the Élysée Palace, to showcase its investments in the country. Emmanuel Macron visited the Matougues plant (Marne) on Monday morning. The visit was part of the 7th Choose France summit, a gathering of business leaders created by Emmanuel Macron to convince them to invest in France.

The family-owned Canadian group, with sales of 10 billion euros [10.8 billion USD], is determined to stay one step ahead in a dynamic but increasingly competitive market. In Europe, McCain's major Belgian rivals, who were already sourcing French potatoes, are in the process of setting up factories in France.
