Seminar: Green Fresh Logistics at Fruit Logistica in Berlin

On February 8 from 2.30 until 3.15 pm, Dutch Fresh Port, Topcorridors, and Fresh Produce Centre are organizing the Green Fresh Logistics seminar at the Fruit Logistica in Berlin. The seminar promises to unveil new developments in sustainable logistics.

Seminar Highlights
Zero Emission Marvels: Discover solutions for transporting fresh products from Southern Europe to Northern Europe with minimal environmental impact.

Green is the New Gold: Uncover how prioritizing freight trains over passenger trains can transform the way we move goods, emphasizing both ecological and economic advantages.

Panel discussion
During the seminar, you can discuss sustainable logistics with an interesting panel:

Maarten van Hamburg, Managing Director Bakker Division, a Greenyard Company: Stresses the need for strong connections with consumers, retailers, service providers, and growers to ensure daily delivery of qualitative, affordable, and sustainable fresh produce.

Fred Lessing, Director of Intermodal Solutions at FreshRail: Aims to green the fresh logistics sector by shifting to rail, identifying opportunities but recognizing existing hurdles.

Christian Østerbye, Deputy Sourcing Group Manager at Coop Trading A/S: emphasizes the importance of sustainability and climate action. In between their various projects, they have, at the moment, an interesting project about moving cargo from truck to train, in which the CO2 reductions are massive.

Anders Lind, Vice president Freshfel and Nordic Sourcing Group Manager at Coop Trading A/S: Highlights the high interaction level of the fruit and vegetables category for consumers, influencing perceptions of store quality and pricing, driving loyalty.

Frederik Zevenbergen, regional minister of South Holland: Works towards sustainable accessibility of Greenports and main ports through a modal shift from fresh cargo to rail, addressing current business community bottlenecks.
