Holidays are a busy time and consumers look for convenience

While the holiday season is the time of year families and friends enjoy spending time together, it is also a busy time of year for a lot of people. Therefore, many consumers are looking for quick, healthy, and convenient snacking options. “We see a significant increase in demand for snacking alternatives this time of year as consumers are preparing to host family and friends,” says Matt Quiring, SVP of Sales & Marketing at Nature Fresh Farms. “It’s a great way to keep families fueled over the busy season.”

Strawberries, snacking tomatoes, mini sweet peppers, and tiny cocktail cucumbers are all popular items right now. “Because of their versatility, they are used in several ways, including charcuteries/snacking boards, appetizers, salads, or just eaten raw on the go,” commented Quiring. After the holidays, demand tends to stay strong as consumers are looking to get into a healthy lifestyle.

All these products are available year-round from Nature Fresh Farms’ different greenhouses in Canada, the US, and Mexico. The company’s first farm in Leamington, Ontario is home to conventional strawberries, snacking tomatoes, and cocktail cucumbers. Organic strawberries and snacking tomatoes are grown in Delta, Ohio and the company grows its mini sweet peppers in Mexico.
