Malaysia vegetable prices are about to rise

Vegetable harvests in Malaysia are expected to be affected by the monsoon transition phase, increasing the likelihood of higher prices in the coming months. According to Federation of Vegetables Sellers Associations President Lee Kha Shiuann, the monsoon transition phase expected until November, vegetable prices will be on the “high”. Among the local vegetables affected are leafy greens like spinach and mustard leaves, he said.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department earlier indicated that during the monsoon transition phase, the country would experience light winds from various directions, conducive to the occurrence of thunderstorms, typically accompanied by heavy rain and strong winds for short periods.
