Carrefour Taiwan stocks first Peruvian Sekoya blueberries

The first Peruvian Sekoya blueberries of the 2023/2024 season arrived at Carrefour Taiwan in August, just in time for the traditional Ghost Month festival.

During this month, people in Taiwan purchase large amounts of food and fruit as offerings to worship and show respect to the spirits of their ancestors. This year the festival falls on August 30.

Penny Chang from Carrefour comments: "From August through to December, there will be a continuous supply of Peruvian Sekoya blueberries available at Carrefour Taiwan hypermarket stores. The amazing eating quality of blueberries will definitely impress our customers".

To meet the demand for big purchases during this time, most Carrefour Taiwan hypermarket stores will display fruits not only in bulk but also in full cartons

The berries are marketed as imported berries to the consumers with background information on their origin from Peru. One box sells for 65 Taiwanese dollars.

"All blueberries are packed in clamshells. Demand for Peruvian blueberries is very consistent at Carrefour Taiwan. Demand is stable and consistent. Even some customers from bakeries will shop great volumes at Carrefour stores for making desserts and pastries.
