"Nanhui 8424" and "Jinshan Xiaohuangguan" have become the preferred watermelon varieties for consumers

The first thing that Shanghai people must enjoy in the summer is watermelon. In the past, everyone would drive to the base to purchase. This year, due to the pandemic, they can only stay at home and mainly use the B2T model to obtain the source of watermelon. The first choices are still Nanhui 8424 watermelon and Jinshan Xiaohuangguan watermelon.

"Nanhui 8424" watermelon is medium in size, with beautiful skin and black seeds. The same is true of the 8424 watermelon, only Nanhui is the most delicious. This is because the Nanhui location is surrounded by water on three sides, the air humidity is high, the temperature difference is large, the frost-free season can last for more than 240 days on average, and the climate is very suitable for watermelon growth. Next to this, the land in Nanhui has high salt content and is a saline-alkali land with a PH value above 7, which is also conducive to the increase of watermelon sugar content.

Besides the Nanhui 8424 watermelon, another preferred variety, the Jinshan Xiaohuangguan, is also very popular among citizens.

In order to satisfy consumers' desire to taste authentic and good melons, the Nanhui 8424 Watermelon Cooperative Base, a member unit of the Shanghai Fruit Industry Association, is going all out to meet the buying needs of the residents of the lock-down community and to ensure that the source is authentic, the quality is stable, and the taste is fresh and sweet. Jinshan small crown watermelon is the same.

It is understood that this year, more than 1000 hectares of "Nanhui 8424 watermelon" were planted in Pudong New Area, with an annual output of more than 30,000 tons, accounting for one-third of the city's total watermelon output. After implementing large-scale planting, standardized production and branding operations, the Jinshan Xiaohuangguan Watermelon has planted more than 66 hectares this year.
