After two editions canceled because of the Covid-19 crisis, the Open Golf of Fruit and Vegetables is back for a 29th edition in Faro, Portugal, where all professionals of the sector are invited, from October 21st to 24th. “The objective simply is to have a great time all together. Experienced golfers or beginners, everyone is welcome. Every year, transporters, producers, wholesalers, buyers and sales representatives from mass retail, representatives of Semmaris and other professionals of the sector will get together to exchange, get to know each other and have a great time,” explains Eric Godard, director of Agence Laparra in Rungis and co-organizer of the event with Jean-Pierre Cheminant, former producer from the Nantes region, and Marc Le Bris, president of Vinas.
Penina Hotel & Golf Resort where the 29th edition of the Open Golf of Fruit and Vegetables will take place
“It is a fun event that takes place each year in a nice place. There are no requirements to participate. Partners are welcome, or even friends. The last edition had gathered about 100 visitors. This year, we expect even more participants. We all want to get together after these two years of very limited exchanges.”
2018 edition
And for those who are not crazy about golf, a themed visit to the producers or distributors of fruit and vegetables will be organized during the event. “In the previous editions, we visited companies like Azura and Fontestad. We always try to organize these visits around a theme that brings us together.”
