James Miller -Chambers

"There has been a realignment of the products and pack sizes closer to pre-pandemic levels"

UK based fruit grower Chambers is back at Fruit Logistica this year, they will exhibit as part of the British stand in Hall 8.2.

"As well as discussing our significant increase in berry production in the UK as well as Spain and Morocco, we will be promoting our packing facilities and logistics division as part of our vertical integration strategy. We will also be using the show to reconnect with supply partners and to develop business relationships," said Commercial Director James Miller.

"We are focusing on our growth strategy, and plan to promote our direct model, connecting with growers to ensure all year-round supply with a vertically integrated supply chain."

James said that the benefit of Fruit Logistica is the international aspect and hopes the marketing team at Fruit Logistica have done enough to highlight the regional areas of the show to maximise people’s time for the areas where they would like to concentrate. "In this sense, having a ‘British’ area would be a good thing, providing it is well promoted."

In the last couple of years lockdowns and the forced restrictions of movements made the fresh, ‘on-the-go’ offering across Europe retract overnight. At the same time, fresh produce sales increased but mainly on longer shelf-life items (apples for example).

"The UK food-to-go market has improved but there remains a significant % of the population, especially those working in London, who are working from home.

"There has been a realignment of the products and pack sizes closer to pre-pandemic levels. The consumer awareness of the health benefits will continue to drive volume sales in the UK. We hope to see continued support from government through legislation and education, with retailers and growers alike promoting the health benefits of fresh produce."

Chambers will be in Hall 8.2 A 07
