According to the UNPT-CNIPT producer panel, in the main producing regions, complemented by the Agreste estimates for the other regions, the plantings of ware potatoes will reach 153,840 ha in 2021, compared to 158,590 ha in 2020, which corresponds to a 3% decline in surfaces (4,750 ha less). Reminder: in 2020, surfaces had increased by 1.4% compared to 2019.
The strongest decreases are observed in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais (-2,680 ha) and Picardie (-1,800 ha).
The Hauts-de-France region still represents 63% of the ware potato surfaces in France.
For the evaluation of the yield and production, it will be necessary to follow the evolution of the weather and the results of the sampling in plots carried out by UNPT this summer.
* The 2020 surfaces of the regions concerned have been updated based on CAP data and consolidation with DRAAF/SRISE.

(2) Champagne-Ardenne and Alsace are part of the Grand-Est region
