New South Wales: 815 seasonal workers allowed conditional entry

The New South Wales Government has granted 815 seasonal workers conditional approval to enter the state. The workers will travel from Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands to work in the state’s horticulture and meat processing industries. They will be employed across the sector, including at Guyra’s Tomato Farm.

“They’ll join the almost 350 workers that the government has previously brought into New South Wales, so, all told, around 1300 agricultural workers that’ll be working on farms, picking fruit, working in our abattoirs.”

According to nbnnews.com.au, all incoming workers will be required to undergo two weeks’ in hotel quarantine before commencing work.
