In a survey, conducted by Demoscope on behalf of the Association of Swiss Mushroom Producers (VSP), 94% of Swiss consumers said that they were most often buying white mushrooms when purchasing cultivated mushrooms.
The survey, commissioned by the VSP in October 2020, showed that white mushrooms are still the most frequently purchased Swiss cultivated mushroom variety, the association wrote in a statement. 94% of Swiss consumers said that these mushrooms end up in their shopping basket most often. They were followed by shitake mushrooms with 5%, although there has been a slight growth in this category in recent years.
In the ranking of the most frequently bought mushroom varieties, oyster mushrooms are in second place with 4% and king trumpet mushrooms in third, with 2%.
