The new Sulmona red garlic packaging and processing plant has been officially inaugurated by the company Aglio D'Alessandro. "In the new warehouse - explained the manager Vittorio D'Alessandro - we have installed the most modern machines for sorting, packaging and we have installed two cold rooms with a capacity of 2500 cubic meters. This will ensure a better preservation and we will have the product for a longer period."

Sales started off very well, with a positive trend that continues to grow strongly. Among the most popular formats are the 125 gram, 150 gram nets and also garlic split into cloves. D'Alessandro garlic is particularly aromatic and red in color, with even more pronounced nuances. "This is because of the phenotype and the environment in which it grows, here in the Peligna valley - he added - but this year, thanks to the weather, all the characteristics that distinguish our garlic are even more marked."
In addition to the 125 and 150 gram nets, each with 3 or 4 heads, more formats such as braids and sacks are also requested. "Thanks to the bigger packaging and storing center - concluded D'Alessandro - we are going to improve our supply chain, from the certified seed to the shipping stage."

"We are experts in our product, because we are producers and we handle it directly. This year we have even more hectares, almost 60, and we had increased them precisely because we were planning to upgrade and expand the warehouse. Now we can supply the large-scale distribution and wholesalers with a larger amount of product and for a longer period of time."
