Since 2017 Verbos Business Development and Nvest have been involved in bridging the gap between Colombia and the Netherlands. They are involved in matchmaking, market research and building strong partnerships. Currently they work with a very professional Colombian basil producer, which has interest in expanding to Europe.
Basil production from Colombia is quite unique since most of the basil production outside of Europe currently is in Israel and Kenya. In addition, there is only one specific region in the country that is suitable for the production of Basil due to its climate conditions.
This basil producer has been exporting to the United States for several years and is looking for new opportunities in Europe due to the increasing demand of fresh herbs that allow a positive local social and economic impact against competitive pricing and year-round supply. They are also willing to invest in expansion of their production and diversification if the demand is there.
They are looking for a European importer of herbs who is interested in basil and complementary herbs that can be sourced locally to ensure competitiveness the Netherlands and a positive impact in Colombia.
