"Organic cauliflower market in China picking up"

Like other products, the price of vegetables has been highly volatile this year. The market demand has been fluctuating frequently as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak that has been ongoing since the traditional holiday of Chinese New Year, which has directly affected the price. A few weeks ago, as the volume of vegetables on the market increased, the overall price dropped to a low level. "Our organic cauliflower has been on the market for some time. This crop was planted in mid-November last year and was harvested on May 5 this year before arriving on the market.

"Prices were not high a week ago, with the wholesale price being 0.50 yuan per half a kilo, but it has recently risen to about 1 yuan. This is partly due to the fact that life in China has almost entirely returned to normal, and the demand has increased significantly." Mr. Qian of Shanghai Linzan Industrial Development Co., Ltd., who grows cauliflower in his growing center, analyzed the current cauliflower market.

The product marketed by Mr. Qian is organic. They use different growing techniques and organic fertilizers to ensure that the product is safe and seasonal. "Although the price of organic cauliflowers almost doubles that of the conventional product, its nutritional value is much higher and it is more easily digested and absorbed. In the Chinese market, cauliflower has high consumer popularity, as this vegetable is rich in vitamin B and C, with low crude fiber content, fresh and crunchy, rich in nutrition, and delicious in flavor."

Shanghai Linzan Industrial Development Co., Ltd. has their own growing center in Qidong, with an area of about 100 mu and a product of about 50,000 kg. In addition to cauliflower, he also markets corn, green pea, taro, potato, Chinese cabbage, garlic leaves, yam, green pepper, and other vegetables. "With the development of our center, we have made a lot of investments in ensuring quality. We are now seeking opportunities for export."
