Companies in the fruit and vegetable sector are increasing

Photo report Marca Bologna trade fair

This fair is customized to the needs of the large-scale distribution industry and everything revolves around that. It is no coincidence that the technical-scientific committee is made of 21 large-scale retail trade representatives, and perhaps this is precisely why the Marca exhibition has expanded with an area dedicated to fresh products alone.

Yesterday, the very first day, the event attracted a steady stream of visitors, especially until mid-afternoon. After that, the flow slowed down. The exhibitors operating in the fruit and vegetable sector who in the past years were limited exclusively to processed products, ready meals and fresh-cut, this year had an entire area dedicated just to them, and about 20 companies adhered. Many of these companies only focus on fresh produce and some are suppliers of goods or services.

"We are very pleased about this first day - commented Vittoria Calcagni of Besana, a company that specializes in dried fruit - This is our first time and we were very impressed".

Other exhibitors such as Marco Nucci and Francesco D'Angelo of the Fucino IGP potato, were of the same opinion. The conference organized by SG marketing on the role of innovation was very successful.

Sana Up, an appendix of Sana dedicated to organic products, was  less well-received. Its ample spaces, attracted only a handful of randomly organised visitors, meaning the experiment was not a great success.
