Zanzivivai Bio supplies plants and scions

The organic status is authentic if it starts from the plant nursery

Even though the overall situation of the pear tree is not ideal, organic farming seems to be an opportunity to make profits. And Zanzivivai Bio has the possibility of supplying organic plants and scions, produced by its own apple and pear stumps, with a guarantee for the whole supply chain.

Giovanni Zanzi and Roberto Cavaler have underlined this on the occasion of the recent edition of Futurpera in Ferrara. "There is a great demand for organic pears - says Giovanni Zanzi - both for the fresh market and for the industry. Average prices are very interesting, and they can cover investments and lower yields. To make a profit, it is essential to provide coverage with an anti-insect net. Zanzivivai Bio has certified organic plants available".

Roberto Cavaler explains the details of the production: "We have virgin lands on which to grow plants because, as experts know, to be able to certify organic plants, we must start from certified soils. Our stumps are certified organic, as are the scions. In recent times the demand for organic plants has increased, in light of the higher production prices".

Due to the many insect attacks, primarily the Brown marmorated stink bug (Halyomorpha halys), it is now necessary to protect the pear plant with a net, better still if it is a single-line one (see FreshPplaza of 10/14/2019). At this point, for organic farms or those wishing to become organic, organic cultivation is more profitable.

"I am increasingly convinced - adds Cavaler - that organic cultivation is not so complicated if you have the right mentality and knowledge. First of all, it is essential to think about the balance of the soil: without this, you cannot get the results you want. Secondly, insect and mushroom multiplication must be monitored and prevented by taking the proper precautions".

"Our company - concludes Zanzi - is completely available for those who need quality organic plants, resistant to diseases of all species, not only apple and pear trees. Furthermore, we are available to our customers for advice on both the choice variety and plant management; a consultancy that is the result of years and years of experience, both in Italy and abroad".
