Aniplast latest technological solutions

Innovative covers for actinidia and cherry orchards

The newest trends that will impact the agriculture net and tarp sector will be related to covers that reduce the use of pesticides. This is why Aniplast's efforts are focused on the research and development of new technological solutions aimed at organic products supplied by the fruit and vegetable chain industry.

"The feedback received from both customers and new connections established throughout Europe and Chile is very positive - declared Antonio Popeo, Aniplast sales manager - and this has allowed our company to increase by 20% in grape net covers, 50% in yellow and red kiwi net covers, and 20% in cherry net covers that use the new net system".

The company attended Fruit Attraction 2019 to expand its customer portfolio in interesting and growing areas such as Chile, Peru, Spain and Portugal. "The feedback received through new contacts and existing customers forecast a growth of the company and increasing sales next year," added Lucia Solito of the export department.

The newest solutions offered by Aniplast refer particularly to two covers: Anisolar Plus Net and Anigold 200T.

Anisolar Plus Net is the innovative cover for cherry trees. "It combines a polyethylene laminated anti-rain cover with double reinforcements and ropes, and an anti-Drosophila net", explained Nico Difino, production manager. "The waterproof cover protects against rain and hail and ensures greater aeration and light for the plant, while the anti-Drosophila net prevents the fly from damaging the fruit. This particular system is excellent for protecting the cherry orchards from Drosophila Suzuki, which affects the ripe cherries, devaluing its commercial value.

Anigold 200T is a special low density polyethylene film-LDPE that uses UV stabilization.

It is a film with an innovative technology: 7 layers of film are assembled in only 200 microns which confers a higher mechanical resistance, and therefore a greater resistance against atmospheric agents.

With this hybrid greenhouse system, the cost of producing kiwifruit is reduced and fewer pesticides are used. Moreover, thanks to its technical characteristics, Anigold 200T is able to anticipate the ripening of orchards (in particular that of yellow and red kiwis), guaranteeing total protection against bacterial diseases.

"Bacteriosis is a fastidious plant disease that affects especially yellow and red kiwi. Aniplast is the only company to produce a film with a reinforced band to anchor the net," Difino concluded.
