"Middle Eastern and European demand for Chinese ginger remains strong"

"The new production season of fresh ginger officially started last month and the harvest is currently in full swing in most production areas. The fresh ginger is expected to enter the market in mid- to late November. The overall production volume of ginger is more or less the same as last year because weather conditions have been stable throughout the year." This is according to Kevin Li of Qingdao Sinonut Import & Export Co., Ltd.

"The ginger currently available on the Chinese market was harvested last year and kept in storage. The long period in storage has an impact on product quality, which is barely satisfactory. However, the overall supply volume is limited, and both the domestic price and the export price show a slight rise. In December, when fresh ginger is on the market, the price of ginger will certainly drop."

"The reserves of ginger in storage are limited, but supply is still able to meet demand prior to the arrival of fresh ginger. As for export, the market prospects look good. Market demand from the Middle East and Europe remains strong. Although fresh ginger from Brazil and Peru also enters the market around this time of year, their impact on Chinese ginger export is limited. Chinese ginger is reasonably priced and the product quality is stable and high."
