Fourth year at OPS for Organic banana specialist

Organics Unlimited specializes in organic bananas, and says it does so in a manner that is sustainable and cares about the local communities. It is with this spirit that they are exhibiting at the Organic Produce Summit on July 10 and 11 in Monterey California. This will be the fourth year that Organics Unlimited will be exhibiting at OPS and the company’s President and CEO, Mayra Velazquez de León (below, second from right), shared that it’s a great show to attend and exhibit at for a number of reasons.

“This industry gathering specializes in organic produce – the tenet our family business was founded on generations ago,” she said. “Organics Unlimited continues to look for ways to expand its presence in the organic produce industry and OPS attracts a wide range of exhibitors and attendees. Monterey provides an inviting setting for attendees to strengthen existing relationships and allows for potential prospects to become new customers. The experiences that we have had as a company at previous OPS shows have been very positive and make us ready to attend this week.”

New labels and fairly traded message on show
It’s peak banana season in Organics Unlimited’s Mexican growing regions and this will be a center of conversation at OPS. Additionally, the company’s team members will be handing out their cute little logo monkeys and will have Organics Unlimited reusable bags at the booth. There will also be GROW and Organics Unlimited label bananas available, as Velazquez de León says, “Visitors will be able to speak with us about how well peak season banana production is currently going, get all their questions answered by members of our experienced team and walk away knowing that Organics Unlimited grows the healthiest, best-tasting organic bananas around.”

Speaking of the company’s label and GROW program, this will be an area where Organics Unlimited will focus on and will aim to educate attendees at OPS, showing them what goes in to producing an organic banana in a sustainable manner. “We are hoping to be able to show off our new labels with the 'traded fairly' message at the show,” Velazquez de León shared. “The messaging will offer an immediate way to let consumers know that when they are buying GROW, they can trust that they are buying a banana that has truly been traded fairly. GROW, which supports a network of small growers in our neighboring country of Mexico (as local as you can get for growing bananas), gives back to the growing regions through education and health care programs as well as disaster relief.”

Chance to expand on value-based partnerships
One of the reasons companies attend trade shows like the Organic Produce Summit is to establish and maintain positive partnerships. According to Velazquez de León, Organics Unlimited has special values and their desire is to find like-minded companies to partner with. Some of those partnerships have been constructed or reinforced at the Organic Produce Summit.

“Organics Unlimited is committed to providing premium quality organic bananas through a culture of sustainability, caring for our communities and providing excellence in customer service,” she concluded. “Ultimately, our goal is to build healthier communities. We do this through a passion for our cause, sustainable business practices, honesty and respect in our valued partnerships. It is encouraging to be part of an organization that promotes the importance of sustainable and socially responsible practices to consumers. We enjoy being part of the show and look forward to another successful OPS in 2019.”

Visitors to the Organic Produce Summit will find Organics Unlimited at Booth #707.
