China: "First shipments of Uzbekistan cherries are about to enter the market"

Cherries are among the most popular fruits in the Chinese market. The Chinese cherry production season is currently in full swing. At the same time, imported cherries also continue to flood the market. Among the import cherries there is a newcomer. Uzbekistan recently obtained permission to export cherries to the Chinese market. Mr. Li Fafu of Guangzhou Hongtai Trade Co., Ltd. talked about their first shipment of cherries imported from Uzbekistan: "This is the first time our company has imported cherries from Uzbekistan for Chinese consumers to enjoy. Although the import volume is not that big this year, the cherries require much attention and careful consideration of cold storage and temperature control during transport. The conditions for the distribution of cherries from Uzbekistan present significant difficulties. That is why we only imported a small volume to test the waters."

The Uzbekistan market is uncharted territory for Chinese companies, but according to Li Fafu, there are several Chinese companies that have signed contracts for the purchase of cherries and other agricultural products form Uzbekistan.
