Day of the radish, but sales currently not very festive

For those who weren’t aware: 22 May is the day of the radish. A reason for a party (and a tweet from Piet Zwinkels), but current sales are putting pressure on the festivities. “Sales have unfortunately been a little less festive lately. We’re all missing the lovely spring weather, and consumption is clearly lacking as a result. Especially when comparing it to last year,” says radish producer Erik de Jong of Jongfresh.

But, with a wink, “every day is the day of the radish for us, and our extensive colour spectrum of various radishes means it always looks a little festive.”
