The French apricot season starts one week late

With the drop in temperatures of the past few weeks, the apricot harvest has fallen a bit behind schedule. It will start at the end of this week (w20), and the volumes will progress in w21 (500 to 1,000 tons), to reach large volumes: 2,000 tons to be confirmed in w22 and 3,000 tons in w23. With more than 150,000 tons, the French production is back at a level consistent with the previous years (except for 2018), while the Spanish production, affected by frost and rotation, is down. Italy, on the other hand, has reached a high level again.

Prediction calendar for the apricot production (in tons)

Peaches and nectarines
The launch of the peach and nectarine season is scheduled in week 24. The fruits are not particularly late, and the first fruits will be picked mid-June, like in 2017.

Les carnets de Julie
The promotional TV campaign for the products of “Pêches et Abricots de France”, highlighting the pride of the producers, will start this weekend. It will last until mid-July with, among others, the sponsorship of the show “Les Carnets de Julie”.
