Organic farming is booming in Brittany

In Brittany, one farmer out of ten is now “organic”, meaning more than 3,000 farms are now certified.

Jean-Hervé Caugan, president of the Chamber of Agriculture of the Finistère, is also part of the movement. He is the first president with an “organic” label. He began his conversion in 1998 on his farm in Dinéault where he produces cereals, milk and vegetables. At the time, he was part of a tiny minority of barely 1,000 farms with the organic label.

This reflects the transformation of the agricultural sector in the region of Brittany.
