The new pavilion will be entirely dedicated to fruits and vegetables

Rungis plans to open a second organic pavilion

Due to the explosion of the demand for organic products (71% of the French now consume organic products regularly and 12% consume organic products every day), the market of Rungis, which already has the largest organic hall in Europe, plans to open a second organic pavilion dedicated to fruits and vegetables.

Four years after opening the 60,278 square feet dedicated to organic products, Rungis will open a second area for organic products. It will be entirely devoted to fruits and vegetables, the organic products which consumers seek the most. “The organic pavilion is doing great, there is a 20 to 30% growth, depending on the companies. We are even considering opening a second organic hall with the president of the fruit and vegetable union,” explained Stéphane Layani to the French radio station Europe 1.

Just like in the first one, there will be products certified at least by the European and AB labels, as well as the Demeter (biodynamic) label for some.
